Arvind Subramanian gets 1-yr extension as CEA

FM Arun Jaitley said, the government has extended Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramanian term by one year, which was to end on October 16 this year and will serve until October 2018. Subramanian said, “delighted to take on the challenges”. He became the India's CEA in October 2014 after Raghuram Rajan, who quit the position to become RBI governor. He was actively involved in drafting the Goods and Services Tax.
