India’s first indigenous artillery gun clears final test

Make in India has been a success as India’s first indigenous, long-range artillery gun “Dhanush” clears its final test at Pokhran. It means Dhanush is ready to get induction into the Army. Known as “desi Bofors", It has a strike range of 38 kilometres and 81% of its components are indigenously sourced. It also passed the test in 7 cold conditions. Each 155-mm gun costs about Rs 14.50 crore while each shell costs Rs 1 lakh.
