NASA's first remotely piloted aircraft flies through national airspace

Ikhana, a large unmanned aircraft, created by NASA, took off into the national airspace system yesterday. The aircraft launched from Edwards Air Force Base in California was remotely piloted and controlled from several airspaces. NASA flew the unmanned aircraft while detecting and avoiding other aircraft in the national airspace system. Ikhana also imitated a low approach at Southern California Logistics Airport.
