US Supreme Court: Judge's approval necessary for location data

The US Supreme court voted on the privacy of location and ruled that cellphone tower searches and revealing of location data will require a judge's approval. Chief Justice Roberts's decision upheld the fourth amendment rights by enforcing the requirement of a search warrant by law enforcement to get a person's cell phone location records. The 5-4 vote will help several cases where prosecution violated individual privacy.
